A man with a checkered relationship past tries to redeem himself by saving women from men like his former self. His goal is to teach as many women as possible to avoid the pitfalls of selecting bad men by educating them in how to tell the difference between the dogs and the slim selection of good men that is available. He feels that he will be redeemed if he can save as many women from bad relationships as possible in the span of one year. His redemption is that by doing this he will be spared the pay back his daughter may inflict on him in the future if she selects the wrong man to bring home to meet dad!
