

I was shocked, disappointed & deeply saddened when I saw the news that Heath Ledger was found dead today in a NYC apartment with a bottle of sleeping pills by his side. While I wouldn’t have said he was the best actor I ever saw, I did and do think he was a very good actor with the potential to be great. Many would say this was evident in his Oscar nominated performance in ‘Brokeback Mountain‘, a movie I never did see.
Heath had just finished filming his role, as the Joker, in the upcoming and highly anticipated sequel to ‘Batman Begins‘, ‘The Dark Knight‘. I can’t say for sure if this role would have been the one to push him into marquee movie star status, but the point is now moot as his fame is now all but insured ala Brandon Lee in ‘The Crow‘.
